Game studio currently working on mobile game for fall release.

Newly formed game development studio Six Shooter Games is currently working on a mobile title, “Sprocket Junkie,” for release this fall. With the recent closure of Ignition Entertainment Florida in November of 2010 many of its former employees moved on to create their own companies making Gainesville a new gaming hub. Dave Loyd, Dwayne Knight and Jonathan Hagewood are no exception. With their many years of experience they bring valuable insight to the game design and development of this newly founded company.

The founders then began to expand their company by working on small contract jobs and working on their own personal computers. Then in June 2011, they were able to open their own studio. Bringing in other ex-Ignition Entertainment, Six Shooter Games started work on their own debut title, Sprocket Junkie.

“Sprocket Junkie will be our first release,” said CEO and programmer Dave Loyd. “It will begin what we hope to be a long line of fantastic games.”

In Sprocket Junkie, players are able to race and battle one another atop customizable rocket engines. The use of grappling hooks add a special element to the game allowing players to take down opponents as well as make hair pin turns around a dangerous track filled with obstacles. Players can choose from various characters, customizable engines and accessories while competing in several fast paced single and multiplayer modes.

Sprocket Junkie keeps the player invested in the game with different types of currencies, achievements, as well as the ability to customize your own engine. The player will level up through a ranking system by receiving bonuses and completing missions. The main focus of Sprocket Junkie is to be fun, not just for quick gamers, but for the competitive players as well.

“Making games is about the consumer,” noted designer Steven Collins. “The old saying ‘the customer is always right’ could not be more at home for a game studio. The gaming community wants good games that are fun, we are here to make them.”

The company has launched a Kickstarter project to obtain funding and develop interest in the game. Visiting and making a pledge provides a chance to receive exclusive items from the game as well as providing support to a community based business.

Six Shooter Games is not setting out the change the game world but is intent on leaving a mark. With a passion in making great games as well as having a blast while doing so produces quality and unique experiences for their customers. Sprocket Junkie is just the first game that embodies the fun and creativity of the dedicated team at Six Shooter and is certainly not the last

“The lights come on, scoreboards are lit all around, and the anticipation is greeted by the first collision of man, rocket, and harpoon. The Tournament has begun.”
