...the Kitchen Cavalry was born to address the needs of these families and others and set them on a path to health and ease in the kitchen.

The Kitchen Cavalry has launched a new web site (http://kitchencavalry.com) and e-course to teach cooking fundamentals. Kitchen Cavalry's courses offer a novel approach to learning how to cook and are aimed at helping address the obesity epidemic in our country and the loss of knowledge of traditional cooking techniques that are not being passed to younger generations.

This first e-course, "5 Fundamentals That Will Change Your Life in the Kitchen," includes five key lessons: how to roast a chicken, how to make chicken stock from scratch, how to make your own salad dressing, how to pan sear and make a basic sauce, and how to braise meats. Each lesson focuses on the techniques (as opposed to a specific recipe) and encourages students to connect with their food sources, overcome fear of the unknown in the kitchen, develop their own intuition and understand the relationship between nutrition and optimum health.

Through these multimedia e-courses, the Kitchen Cavalry offers a gentle way to learn to cook. The courses include step by step video demonstrations of each technique along with supplemental videos explaining the benefits of each method and key mindsets to adopt while working with unfamiliar ingredients or equipment. Users can start the course at any time and continue at their own pace.

A lifetime foodie and and cooking enthusiast, Kitchen Cavalry founder Nicole P. Hough spent 10 years designing award-winning kitchens until she started an allergy and gluten-free baking business in 2008. Through this business she saw the challenges and stress that families face getting healthy meals on the table without the time, knowledge or resources to do so easily. Thus, the Kitchen Cavalry was born to address the needs of these families and others and set them on a path to health and ease in the kitchen.
