Fort Collins, CO (PRWEB) September 20, 2011
Daily Endorphin teamed up with the Northern Colorado Business Report and Banner Health in this year’s BizFit health & fitness challenge. In Daily Endorphin’s portion of the challenge, the participating Northern Colorado company teams were asked to input their daily physical activity minutes on the company’s website for a five month period beginning on March 15th and ending on August 15th, 2011. The site kept a running tally of the live team and individual standings throughout the challenge which provided a fun, interactive way to keep everyone motivated and accountable to each other so that participants would keep exercising regularly until the very end.
Volk & Bell Benefits (“The Fit Kickers of Volk & Bell” team) set the pace and led wire-to-wire, coming in first with a weekly average of 488 minutes exercised per team member. Burns Marketing was second with 383 minutes exercised per team member, while Shirazi Benefits was a close third at 363.
Cumulatively, the challenge participants exercised a total of 276,304 minutes, burned an estimated 1.9 million+ calories, and exercised 3,278 days. The weekly averages per participant came to 285 minutes, just over 2,000 calories burned, and 3.39 days exercised.
Ryan Volk, Sr. Benefits Consultant at Volk & Bell Benefits, and participant on the winning team of the challenge, said:
“Daily Endorphin is a fun and easy to use wellness program. Whether you already live an active lifestyle or you’re trying to set a few simple personal fitness goals, it promotes fun competition not only with teammates but other teams as well. The website is easy to use and the tracking of results makes it motivating to keep working hard!”
