Sherwood Oaks College has secured an impressive list of Hollywood’s leading Producers, Writers and Directors to provide a unique glimpse of the Industry in a two-day class that will run on September 19 and 20, 2011.

Confirmed writers for the class include Laeta Kalogridis, the writing partner for Director and Writer James Cameron who was also Executive Producer on Avatar, Nicholas Kazan, Writer for Bicentennial Man and Fallen; Paul Guay, Liar, Liar; and Bill Marselii who teamed with Terry Rossio to write Déjà Vu among many other titles.

Also confirmed is writer and director Shane Black, most currently the writer and director for Ironman 3, currently in development and Nicholas Meyer, the Writer of three of the Star Trek sequels and the Director of two of them.

With the intent to provide screenwriters and filmmakers with seldom-experienced access to successful film-business professionals, Sherwood Oaks has designed the two-day event to provide insights from writers, directors and producers in a rare interactive teaching and learning environment.

On the first day of The Hollywood Writers, Producers and Directors class on September 19th, students will hear from and share insights with writers and directors. The opportunity to listen to and mingle with well-known writers and directors in a single intimate session is a trademark of the Sherwood Oaks teaching philosophy.

The second day on September 20th, students will participate in a panel discussion with top Hollywood Producers from both large and Independent companies. The Independent companies, especially, attend this class with open perspectives on meeting new talented writers and filmmakers.

In addition to gaining knowledge about the film industry and contacts for future use, students will also be allowed to share a current project by giving a one-page synopsis to each professional guest for their review.

The cost for each day of the class is $99 if registration is done before the event. The cost for day-of registration is $150 per day. Location of the class will be provided following registration.
