London, UK (PRWEB) September 18, 2011
Embrace Cooperation a non-profit organization that provides a variety of high quality photography workshops either fee-paid or in the form of charitable community projects announces new affordable courses for the next three months. These courses will take place in the offices of Embrace Social Enterprises Ltd in Brixton and they can be booked online or by phone (020 7274 945); for more details please contact John(dot)c(at)myembrace(dot)org.
As well as the regular topics covered in photography courses like Photoshop, portraiture, landscape and macro photography Embrace also provides interesting workshops unavailable anywhere else; one of these classes took place in August and focused on studio photography with a difference, the course is called ‘How to build a photography studio for under £100’. One of the students who attended it was business support officer Beate Woollcombe who booked a place for only £30 and had the opportunity to get first hands-on experience on how to use basic materials to build your own studio without spending a fortune.
The first part of day consisted of buying all the materials from the local DIY store which included plastic waste piping, T junctions and even a shower curtain! Then everything was assembled to create a superb background. The next step was the lighting, two powerful lights were screwed into a stand and the light surround of a beauty mirror served as a ring flash which is a helpful tool in macro and portrait photography.
Beate was amazed how quickly they built the studio and was ready to be used straight away for the second half of the day. In his own words he found the workshop as “a worthwhile effort if you are thinking of setting up a portrait photography business and need to keep your costs to a minimum”.
Beate is planning to keep increasing his confidence and feels “Embrace is the ideal place for that with a lovely atmosphere and a great platform to ask questions and improve your photography skills”.
