Matched dollars will be used for long-term disaster relief in Northeast Alabama.

The outpouring of generosity and success of the initial $100,000 match inspired us to increase our commitment.

The Patterson Foundation announced today that it will increase its commitment to match donations dollar-per-dollar made to The Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama tornado relief fund, up to $200,000. The match increase will provide funds to nonprofit agencies, religious organizations and governmental entities that provide long-term disaster assistance to communities in Northeast Alabama.

“The outpouring of generosity and success of the initial $100,000 match inspired us to increase our commitment,” said Debra Jacobs, president and CEO of The Patterson Foundation. “Because The Patterson Foundation is a New Realities foundation, we are committed to providing relief during natural and manmade disasters.”

In August, The Patterson Foundation partnered with The Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama and committed to match up to $100,000 in donations received to seed a tornado relief fund benefiting Calhoun, Cherokee, DeKalb, Etowah and Talladega counties.
