In addition to providing veterans with the educational materials, Guidant will also offer a 10% discount on their services to help them find funding.

Supporting the theme ‘Empowering our Nation’s Veterans to Explore Business Ownership,’ Guidant Financial has pledged to give 2000 copies of Making the Jump - Into Small Business Ownership to U.S. veterans who would like to investigate whether owning a small business or franchise is right for them. Veterans and other interested parties can view more about the book at MakingtheJumpbook.com.

David Nilssen, cofounder of Guidant Financial, who co-authored the book, has also joined the International Franchise Association’s VetFran Committee to work with its leadership to help make franchising more accessible to our servicemen and women.

”Unemployment is a national challenge we all face. I originally wrote Making the Jump - Into Small Business Ownership as a practical guide for those, employed or not, to begin evaluating whether small business or franchise ownership is right for them. We feel that our American Heroes, those home and returning form the war, need additional support. We’re proud to provide this small assistance to them.”

In addition to providing veterans with the educational materials, Guidant will also offer a 10% discount on their services to help them find funding. Nilssen continued, “To paraphrase President Obama’s jobs speech, our veterans fought for this country, they should not have to fight for a job or other opportunities for gainful employment. Nilssen goes on to say, “12 percent of our clients are veterans and we believe their discipline, commitment and experience makes them tremendous small business owners.”
