Many members of the California Association of Bed & Breakfast Inns are offering special wine packages in conjunction with California Wine Month.

Fall is harvest time in California wine country. The vineyard-draped hills are awash in golden sunlight, the wineries are bustling with activity and in celebration of California Wine Month, there is an abundance of special events, tastings, and lodging specials. Many members of the California Association of Bed & Breakfast Inns (CABBI) are offering special wine packages in conjunction with California Wine Month, some of which are valid through October.
The “Sommelier’s Choice Wine Tasting Package” at L’Auberge Carmel is a new package designed for wine and food enthusiasts. The package includes an overnight stay at L’Auberge Carmel, a four-course prix fixe dinner for two with wine pairing at Aubergine, a private wine tasting with wine director and sommelier Thomas Perez, a gift box with three specially-selected wines, and breakfast for two. Seasonal package prices start at $1,045 mid-week and $1,095 on weekends through October 2011, excluding holidays and special events. Prices include service fees and restaurant taxes; hotel taxes are excluded. Two night minimums may apply on weekends.
Brannan Cottage Inn’s “Calistoga Wine Country Wellness Package” feature wine tastings and tours of Lava Vine Winery and Vincent Arroyo Winery. In addition, the package includes an overnight stay, a multi-course breakfast for two, one-hour therapeutic massages for two, choice of spa bath treatments, and a three-course dinner. The package is $489 per couple on weekdays (Sunday through Thursday) and excludes taxes, dinner beverages and gratuities. The package is valid through October 31, 2011.
Stay two nights at the MacCallum House Inn in Mendocino and savor a luxury wine tour of the Anderson Valley from the comfort of a stretch limousine or Lincoln Town Car. The Wine Tour Package includes an organic gourmet breakfast each morning, guided VIP wine tastings and tours, sparkling wine served en route, a gourmet picnic lunch and $14 daily in food and beverage credits valid in the evenings at the MacCallum House Inn restaurant or bar. The package price is $940 (retail value $1,200).
In the heart of the Lodi Appellation in the San Joaquin Valley, the Inn at Locke House is offering a Wine Exploration Package. The package includes a two-night stay and a tasting ticket for two at the Lodi Wine and Visitor Center. The package rate for rooms in the main house is $300; the Tower Suite is $470. Guests must mention Wine Exploration Package when booking. The special may not be combined with any other offer.
The Groveland Hotel’s “Suite, Wine Tasting and Massage Package” offers relaxation and romance with an overnight stay in a Victorian suite, a massage for two, $50 dinner voucher, a bottle of sparkling wine, four hand-dipped chocolate strawberries and free wine tasting for two at Gianelli Vineyards. Valued at $619, the package offer is available for $549 through October 14, 2011. Taxes and gratuities are additional. A second night may be added for $295.
