Benco Dental’s Magazine is First of its Kind to Meet Needs of Modern Dentists

Dentistry is constantly evolving – from the techniques employed to those who are practicing in the field. Revitalizing Benco Dental’s Incisal Edge magazine was necessary to meet the needs of today’s dentists. The revamped magazine fills a void left by other publications aimed at the dental and medical communities. Never before has a magazine spoken directly to dental professionals both in and out of the office.

Benco Dental’s goal was to create a dynamic publication, whose look, feel and content soars beyond traditional dental or medical professional magazines. While Incisal Edge continues to be a trusted source in the industry for up-to-the-minute news about the latest techniques and tools, the new magazine breaks free from the stale, standard ways of presenting this information.

“Our approach to the redesign involved enhancing what was already working and identifying new features that would capture the interest of the modern dentist,” explains Chuck Cohen, managing director of Benco Dental.

To reflect what’s relevant to readers, Incisal Edge aims to spotlight the best of the best. Its inaugural issue does just that with its cover feature, “Top 40 Under 40” which names the top dentists practicing in the United States age 40 and under.

“We want Incisal Edge to be a direct reflection of the profession,” says Rick Cohen, managing director of Benco Dental. “Redesigning the magazine was necessary to capture the energy and enthusiasm of today’s dentistry.”

New sections appearing each issue include “Open Bites” which features the hottest and coolest places, people, tools and happenings. In this section, dentists learn about the latest tools fellow dentists can’t live without, charities their peers participate in and dental events held throughout the country in the coming months.

The “Success” section profiles the best in the business. Features include Incisal Edge Hall of Fame dentists who have left a huge mark on the profession, dentists who have unique partnerships within their practice and those who are effectively using leading edge tools or techniques.

In addition, Incisal Edge has added unique content that speaks to dentists outside of the workplace. Lifestyle features include reviews of exotic vacation destinations and round-ups of the best in luxury items from cars to watches.

The new Incisal Edge can be viewed as a digital publication at and is now available by subscription.
