Don’t want to drive alone in Mexico? There is now a site that offers a matchmaking service for those that want to travel with other vehicles.
Dorothy and Bill Bell are experts in Mexico road travel and have driven to all 31 Mexican states over a dozen times in their 30 years through the country. “We have visited with cars, trailers, motorhomes and motocycles “says Bill Bell, “and we wouldn’t give up our Mexican road trips for anything.”
The Bells' have partnered with http://www.Mexpro.com, a leading provider of Mexico insurance, for many years, directing their travel guide clients to Mexpro's top-rated Mexican auto and RV insurance. Jim Labelle, Mexpro.com CEO, says "we are extremely happy to partner with the Bells' to offer this wonderful service to our mutual customers who are driving to Mexico this winter season."
The Bells have set up a message system on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/167187996679894/?id=202851266446900¬if_t=like) where people can request a travel buddy. They then post it on other websites. “Posters retain their anonymity. They won’t get a load of junk mail in their mailbox.”
Dorothy Bell insists that people don’t really need a “caravan” or “buddy” to ensure safe road travel in Mexico. “We travel solo all the time and have never run into problems. However first-timers might feel a bit safer in numbers. We know that people like to travel together to calm their jittery partners.”
Registration for the Travel Buddies Program is free. (https://www.facebook.com/groups/167187996679894/?id=202851266446900¬if_t=like) Ontheroadin
