Brooklyn, New York (PRWEB) September 21, 2011
Brooklyn Mediates, a new approach to conflict resolution founded and based in the borough of Brooklyn, will make its opening official Thursday, September 22, 2011, at the Breukelen Café in Crown Heights, 764A Franklin Avenue, Brooklyn, from 7:00 - 9:00pm. The launch party, featuring an open bar and food and great networking opportunities, is also a fundraiser for the organization to provide free conflict resolution skills workshops in public spaces throughout Brooklyn.
Brooklyn Mediates was co-founded by Lisa Kass and Michal Bilick to change the way mediation is incorporated into people's everyday lives. "Often, people want to resolve conflict with their families, friends, and colleagues," says Ms. Bilick, "but they are stuck in patterns that allow conflict to persist. Our vision is to promote easier access to conflict resolution skills around the city."
Brooklyn Mediates will also operate as a for-profit practice offering direct mediation services, organizational consulting, and large group workshops. Kass and Bilick seek to empower Brooklyn residents and businesses and create a more economically vibrant, pro-social, and equitable community.
Brooklyn Mediates encourages everyone to join the party on September 22 and learn more about the organization by checking out their Project Page (http://www.rockethub.com/projects/2384-brooklyn-mediates) or visiting their Web site at http://www.brooklynmediates.com.
