"If you’re disappointed your parents didn’t spring for ballet lessons when you were a child, don’t be. Thanks to the dance professionals at Ballet Fusion Fitness, you haven’t missed your window of opportunity." co-owner Lisa Juliet says.
The Mesa-based fitness studio began offering barre-based fitness classes in the Valley last year, but soon began receiving requests to add ballet classes from former dancers. As the word spread, beginners looking for “something different” started filling class rosters – many with young daughters enrolled at the dance studio just down the street.
“Typically our students are 25-50 years old,” says Lisa Juliet. “Some have always wanted to learn ballet, others are interested in enhancing their knowledge of ballet as an art.”
Because Ballet Fusion Fitness is an adults-only studio, Lisa says the learning environment is more relaxed. “It can be intimidating to stand next to a teenager dressed in tights and a leotard after you’ve had two or three children. It’s a comfortable environment here. Students can wear whatever they want.”
Lisa has more than 20 years of ballet experience. Her instructors are all professional ballet teachers with ten or more years of experience. Teaching techniques include Cecchetti (Italian), Vaganova (Russian) and Royal (English) methods.
Ballet Fusion Fitness offers beginning, intermediate and advanced ballet instruction as well as 14 other dance-related fitness classes, including Ballet Boxing, Ballroom Fusion, African Fusion and Ballet Booty.
