Simplee has announced that company CEO and co-founder Tomer Shoval will headline as a featured panelist at the upcoming Fifth Annual Health 2.0 conference in San Francisco. Joined by moderator Steve Downs of the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation and a hand-selected group of executives from three additional health IT startups, Shoval is scheduled to appear at the “Self -Management Devices, Tools and Trackers” seminar at 10:45 AM on the morning of Tuesday, September 27 on the final day of the three-day symposium.
“Health care has become a confusing mess of bills, deductibles and hidden expenses with of-pocket costs up more than 50 percent over the last five years and the average American family spending more than $3,000 per year beyond their monthly premiums,” said Tomer Shoval. “With Simplee, there’s a better way—we give consumers the power to manage all of their health care plans and expenses in one place. It’s an honor to be asked to share my insights and discuss Simplee in more detail at this year’s conference.”
A technology industry veteran with deep online consumer content and commerce expertise, Shoval is the former managing director of eBay’s Shopping.com for North America and is recognized as an innovator in the use of technology for managing the complexity of medical expenses and health care insurance.
Simplee, his latest venture, was launched in June as a free online health care expense management service that transforms linked health insurance information into a personalized dashboard for tracking bills and claims in real-time. It allows users to edit transaction details, and intuitively presents medical visits, deductible status, health savings accounts (HSAs) and total family spending over time with a simplified explanation of deductibles, plans and benefits. Simplee also provides alerts and reminders that help consumers take full advantage of hidden benefits offered under each plan like free preventative care.
Health 2.0 co-founder Matthew Holt commented, “Health 2.0 is known for its ground-breaking technology demos from health IT trailblazers and we believe Tomer Shoval’s presentation will motivate seasoned health IT veterans, empower newbies, and provide guidance for those in the trenches.”
The Health 2.0 conference is attended by the hottest technology-driven health care startups and established companies to preview the latest innovations. A gathering place for software developers, physicians, startup companies, global corporations, health IT vendors, payers, providers, and health care leaders, the conference is often the first place to see new, innovative health technologies before they are introduced to the rest of the world.
