Alfredo Chacon has been musical from the age of five, playing piano and reading music awarding him the honor of graduating from the Conservatory Manuel Saumell at the Superior Institute of Arts in Havana. His father, a noted Orchestra conductor adored classical music and taught of its quality in their home. In 1986 Alfredo playing popular music on vibraphone with a group called SinTrans that originated at the Conservatory Amadeo Roldan.
Stockhom became the backdrop to him becoming a professional musician. He performed and recorded with many prominent artists and acts in Sweden such as: Nordman, Bo Kaspers Orkester, Bebo Valdés, Blacknuss All Stars, Stockholm Folk Big Band, Jonas Knutsson, Magnus Lindgren & Radiojazzgruppen, Janne Tolf and Mats Holmkvists Big Band to name a few. He toured Scandinavia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK, France and other european countries, spanning various genres of music from Pop, Hip Hop, Jazz, Soul, Funk, Fusion, Folklore, Latin Jazz and much more. He developed his tutorial career, working as a drum and percussion teacher at Rinkeby Music School, Kulturama and at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and presented Workshops of Cuban music all over Sweden.
Music direction, composing and arranging became a part of his seasoned repetorie of talent. After living the experience as a member of The Cuban All Stars residing in Europe with Bobby Carcasses as special guest he turned back to Stockholm and created the band SonEra to perform his original compositions and arrangements.
On the hunt for new musical relationships recognized as a percussionist, composer and producer he moved to Madrid, Spain. In Spain he shared stages and recorded with Aute, Beatriz Luengo, Andy & Lucas, Victoria Abril, David Bisbal, Paco Ortega, Habana Blues, David Bustamante, Yadam and Cruceta Flamenco among many others.
