PE INTERNATIONAL Inc. and Five Winds Strategic Consulting are proud to announce that Kevin Brady has been selected as a member of the 2012 Clean50 http://www.clean50.ca, a list that honors outstanding contributors to sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada.

The Clean50 was established to identify and recognize 50 individuals or small teams who have made the greatest contributions to sustainable development or clean capitalism in Canada over the previous two years. The Clean50 was created as a partnership between Delta Management Group, a corporate sustainability and clean technologies search firm and Corporate Knights, Canada’s leading magazine devoted to clean capitalism. The selection process considered a number of criteria, but focused on individuals who have combined vision with actions that have driven the change needed to move society through a tipping point, individuals who have gone above and beyond, standing up in their organizations or society to overcome the barriers and make a difference.

Kevin Brady has been making a difference for over two decades as one of the true, and early, practitioners and thought leaders in the world of sustainable business. As a co-founder of Five Winds Strategic Consulting and co-author of the ground-breaking book, Mapping the Journey, Kevin has passionately advanced the message that sustainability is good business and that integrating environmental performance and social well-being into business decision-making can help organizations move towards a prosperous, sustainable future. Kevin continues to contribute to emerging strategies in sustainability as a member of the Canadian Standards Association Policy Board, the National Round Table on Environment and Economy’s (NRT) LCA Expert Advisory Committee, and as a member of the PE INTERNATIONAL/Five Winds Strategic Consulting practice.

“Kevin has been there from the beginning and his contributions to understanding how sustainability can assist companies to innovate, create value, and maintain competitive advantage cannot be overstated,” said John Heckman, Managing Director of PE INTERNATIONAL Inc. and partner at Five Winds Strategic Consulting. “Concepts and ideas that Kevin was promoting a decade ago are only now becoming standard when organizations discuss sustainability as a driver of business value.”

The 2012 Clean50 Honorees will be announced on September 19th coincident with the release of the next issue of Corporate Knights magazine, which will feature the entire list of the Clean50 honorees, and the introduction of the inaugural Clean16. The Clean16 honors the one person in each of sixteen sustainability categories who has had the most measurable impact over the past few years. Kevin Brady is also being honored as one of Clean16 in the category of “Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Practitioners” and will be featured with a page in the new edition of Corporate Knights. Later in September, the honorees will be recognized and given their awards at a dinner at the inaugural Clean50 Summit in Toronto.
