Despite 'Confidence Men' Book Allegations of Gender Inequity, Obama Cabinet Earns 'No Glass Ceiling' Certification by Female Equality Matters®

White House Cabinet Has Reached Essential "Critical Mass of Women at the top" with 30% Representation and Exceeded Female Equality Matters'® Certification Requirements

As of today, President Obama's Cabinet has been awarded The "No Glass Ceiling" Certification by Female Equality Matters®. With women holding five out of 16 Cabinet roles in the Obama Administration, the President has filled over 30% of his most senior roles with well-qualified, talented women.

“Based on our evaluation, we find the claims of a glass ceiling in the White House being made by Ron Suskind in "Confidence Men: Wall Street, Washington, and the Education of a President" somewhat doubtful. Women hold an exceptional number of seats there at the very top - and are not the kind of women who would be easily shunted aside by anyone or tolerate sexism in their midst," states Kathlene Mullens, Founder/CEO of the “No Glass Ceiling” Certification© from Female Equality Matters®, the premier designation of fairness to women in the workplace.

In receiving this certification, President Obama joins many other top leaders in the business world whose companies – including for-profit, non-profits, and college universities – have earned the ground-breaking distinction of having at least 20% of top leadership roles currently held by females. To date, less than 20% of evaluated organizations earn the certification.
