Taking the Conference and Trade Show Experience Outside the Convention Venue.

The conference experience for attendees today is about far more than what happens inside the walls of the convention center. GatheringPoint’s local maps now allow attendees to see "happening now" local entertainment and dining choices.

Conference Hound, Inc. the San Francisco-based conference discovery platform, today announced a partnership with GatheringPoint, an SF Bay Area provider of hyper-local mapping technology offering displays of restaurants, clubs, cultural events, recreational opportunities near specific venues.

Conference Hound will use GatheringPoint’s geo-platform technology to populate maps of conference venues and their surrounding areas on its web and mobile platforms. The terms of the agreement will also make Conference Hound the exclusive “conference, trade show and convention layer” for maps distributed by GatheringPoint.

“The conference experience for attendees today is about far more than what happens inside the walls of the convention center” said Bruce Carlisle, CEO of Conference Hound. “Not only do GatheringPoint’s local maps now allow attendees to see “happening tonight” entertainment and dining choices, but we also provide up-to-the minute location of their friends and colleagues.” The maps also provide Conference Hound users with Twitter clouds emanating from various venues in and around current conferences. The Gathering Point maps are currently implemented and live at and may be viewed by clicking the “Map & Local Info” tab on any Conference Hound event listing.

Integrated with Conference Hound, GatheringPoint technology provides a highly visual and social element to the conference-going experience. “Conference Hound has the highest quality curated conference listings and we are pleased to add this layer to our hyper-local mapping data. By providing options for people visiting a city – restaurants, concerts, clubs and more, we help with the all important networking element of conferences and tradeshows.” said Spencer Nasser, CEO & Founder of GatheringPoint.
