Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) September 21, 2011
Orion Health, Inc., the global leader in health information exchange(HIE) and healthcare integration solutions, announced today that Orion Health Clinical Portal version 7.0 has been certified as an Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) Module by ICSA Labs, an independent division of Verizon. Orion Health Clinical Portal improves communication for provider care teams by displaying patient data from multiple systems in one easily accessible central location. A highly secure, web-based technology solution, Orion Health Clinical Portal helps healthcare providers meet standardized Meaningful Use objectives.
Orion Health Clinical Portal contributes to achieving eligibility for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) by assuring that all of the security and privacy requirements are met. Other supported meaningful use objectives include management of demographics, problem, medication and allergy lists, exchange of structured laboratory results, and exchange of clinical-summary documents.
“Orion Health solutions help caregivers tap instantly into the data they need without stepping out of their routine workflows, which ultimately benefits diagnostic accuracy, patient safety and health outcomes,” said Dr. Chris Hobson, chief medical officer for Orion Health. “Another significant advantage of Orion Health solutions is that they do not require a provider organization to replace entire systems, enabling them to continue to make the most of their existing IT investments.”
ICSA Labs is designated as an Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ATCB) for electronic health records (EHR), which are used to securely share patient information electronically between physicians, hospitals and other health care providers, from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).
