We try really hard to show people how what they do affects the entire organization, and our customers
Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) September 22, 2011
iSqFt, the country’s leading provider of commercial preconstruction software and services, announced today that it has been named a finalist in the Business Courier’s Greater Cincinnati’s Best Places to Work contest for the fourth consecutive year.
In order to receive this honor, a company’s employees must indicate, among other things, that they trust their leadership and that they feel engaged. This is no small feat under normal circumstances; how has iSqFt managed it four years in a row?
Walking through the halls of iSqFt it’s hard to miss the company’s Core Values of Engagement, Commitment, and Respect hanging, framed, in multiple places around the office. “We take these very seriously,” says Sandra Kuzma, Vice President of Human Resources for iSqFt.
Kuzma points out that iSqFt offers a variety of activities designed to help their “team members” feel involved and engaged. “We have cookouts, company picnics, and a Halloween decorating contest that a few team members take very seriously, but we also give people a chance to get involved through community service and our charities. People require different things to feel personally engaged so we try to offer a few options.”
But that only goes so far, Kuzma is quick to point out. “At work, people want to feel invested. In a larger company it’s pretty easy to feel like a cog in a machine, but here we try really hard to show and tell people how what they do affects the entire organization and our customers. Every person in every role has a hand in that, and when you know that it really does make a difference.”
So what has made iSqFt one of the Best Places to Work for each of the last four years? The answer seems to be that there is no single answer. The company takes a holistic approach to making sure that their employees feel valued, listened to, secure enough to contribute, and that they understand how what they do matters to the success of the company.
“We’ve worked hard to make our team members feel every bit as important as they are,” says Kuzma. “Awards are nice, but having a company filled with people who really care about each other and the quality of their work is often its own reward.”
