Makeup Gourmet, the industry-forward web-based makeup tutorial website and cosmetic brand, has made a new commitment to have its cosmetics made in the USA. Makeup Gourmet wants to embolden a strong, healthy local economy that benefits from the buying choices people make.

This philosophical decision has become a battle cry for Makeup Gourmet. “We cannot rely nor expect Congress to solve this current economical dilemma” says CEO and Founder of Makeup Gourmet Chris Scott, “Change will only happen when businesses and consumers put their money where there heart (home) is”.

By investing in local businesses, Makeup Gourmet creates and maintains jobs, inspires local consumer spending from the employed with job security, raising local tax revenue from sales which enhances quality of life for everyone.

“It is empowering to make a difference with the purchase of a lipstick” says Scott. “Why not take control and make purchasing decisions that directly benefit local jobs and economy”.

In a world of outsourcing and profit-only corporate decision making, people can control the market and distribution of wealth by where they put their money.

By not buying and selling imported goods, it may raise the cost of business on the short term. Makeup Gourmet knows that in the long term however, business and consumer activity dictates the health of the economy. Makeup Gourmet has dedicated itself to the health and wealth of its local economy.

As a bonus, all of Makeup Gourmet’s cosmetics are made 20 miles from its studio door. The benefits of this begin to multiply.
Makeup Gourmet products are fresh. Often product is not made until it is ordered.

Carbon footprint is very low. Products travel only 20 miles before Makeup Gourmet sends it to you.

“It is a great feeling to feel good about what we buy for so many positive reasons”, Scott says. “Makeup Gourmet is committed to making that difference”.
