Founded over seventy years ago, the original Bering’s Hardware store receives a new look.

Sept 27, 2011 – A Houston tradition unveils a new look. Bering’s Hardware, located at 6102 Westheimer, announced today that they will be hosting a grand re-opening, which will run from October 1st through October 9th. For over seventy years, since they first opened their doors, Bering’s has responded to their customer’s needs. Though their doors have never closed, the re-opening is an invitation to experience a completely updated interior. Exciting department expansions and updates include a larger Housewares, Lawn & Garden and Gourmet Department. Additional departments also received more streamlined updates, resulting in a complete overhaul to the inside of the main building.

“It’s a timely update. The last time the store was completely updated was in 1971 when the store caught fire and burned down,” said Augie Bering V, Bering’s President. “Since 1940, Bering’s has built its foundation on customer service and a superior selection of products ranging from lawn & garden to stationery, baby & child and the list goes on. We look to continue the customer service and product offering in an easier to navigate and up-to-date floor plan, with this remodel.”

The grand re-opening will boast daily deals, such as “buy one pound of coffee and get another free”, “have a key made for free”, and a variety of daily raffles and give-aways. In addition to the many give-aways and promotions, some great events will also take place at the Bering’s Westheimer location. Parker Elementary School’s Suzuki Violins will be performing the morning of October 1st and a book signing by William “Bill” Welch, author of Heirloom Gardening in the South, on October 9th. The festivities will conclude with a grand finale drawing of a $500 Bering’s shopping spree and a $345 Fiori spa package.
