Terracon Names Harwood SVP and Director of Strategic Business Sectors

David Harwood was appointed SVP and Terracon's director of strategic business sectors.

David D. Harwood, P.E., P.Eng., has been appointed senior vice president and director of strategic business sectors for Terracon. In his new role, he will lead the overall development of Terracon’s strategic business sectors, which include transportation/infrastructure, energy and federal. Harwood joined Terracon in 2001, and previously served as national director of the transportation/infrastructure sector. He now works out of Terracon’s corporate headquarters in Olathe, Kan., transferring from the Denver office.

A principal, Harwood has more than 20 years of engineering design and construction experience. Harwood’s experience includes project planning, management, engineering design, technical review, quality assurance and construction oversight. He has managed projects involving highways, rail systems, airports, seaports, military installations, pipelines, transmission lines, power generation facilities, refineries, commercial development and master planned communities.

Harwood has an MBA from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California State University, Long Beach. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Design-Build Institute of America, ASFE/The Geoprofessional Business Association, American Council of Engineering Companies and the American Road and Transportation Builders Association.
