The concept of a psychological evaluation has been shrouded in mystery for too long. People should have access to information regarding their own personality and intellectual ability and I am excited to bring that service to the Fairfax community.

Dr. Elizabeth Halper, a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in psychological assessment, recently opened a private practice located in Fairfax, VA. Her practice, Doctor Halper & Associates provides clients with detailed assessments regarding their intellectual, academic, and personality profiles.
Dr. Halper has built a reputation as a practitioner who is able to deconstruct problematic behavior and overlapping diagnoses into treatable components. She set up Doctor Halper & Associates to provide parents, educators, and health professionals in the Fairfax community with a resource for psychoeducational and clinical evaluations. Doctor Halper & Associates provides intellectual testing for admission into the Gifted & Talented program (GT), Advanced Placement Program (APP), private school admissions, and Mensa. They also diagnose learning disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, and visual-motor integration disorders, as well as personality and mood disorders. Doctor Halper & Associates' detailed evaluations provide documentation for educational accommodations and enable medical doctors and therapists to tailor interventions to address specific underlying problems.
Dr. Halper’s background includes extensive training within the deaf community. Although unusual, this experience has lent her a keen ability to adapt testing materials to the particular needs of all her clients in order to achieve an accurate account of IQ and ability. Dr. Halper describes learning how to accurately assess deaf individuals like “Learning how to drive stick shift before getting an automatic,” and she credits her reputation for providing exceptional assessments to this experience.
