...our broader goal has always been to contribute to the overall health and wellness of our entire community.
Eureka, MO (PRWEB) September 26, 2011
This month marks the second anniversary of the Sports and Physical Therapy Center’s move to its new, state-of-the-art facility. The Eureka-based physical therapy clinic, which was previously housed at 70 East North Street, relocated to its present site at 322 North Central Avenue in September 2009.
To celebrate the two-year anniversary of the new location, as well as the practice’s seventh year in business, Sports and Physical Therapy Center owner Sean Quinn hosted a special event in conjunction with the annual Lions Run for Sight. He invited the clinic’s staff and patients, along with their loved ones, to participate in the 5K run or 3K walk as part of a sponsored team.
This year’s Lions Run took place on September 10, as part of Eureka Days 2011. Quinn’s Sports and Physical Therapy Center team had a strong showing at the event, with 40 participants in total. After the Lions Run, team members walked back to the Sports and Physical Therapy Center for a celebration, which included a light breakfast and complimentary chair massages. The attendees then gathered to watch the Eureka Days Parade as it passed nearby.
“The Lions Run provided a perfect opportunity to celebrate the seventh anniversary of our clinic and our second anniversary here on North Central Avenue,” said Quinn. “Ever since we first opened the Sports and Physical Therapy Center, we’ve been recognized as a leading provider of physical therapy in St. Louis County. However, our broader goal has always been to contribute to the overall health and wellness of our entire community. The Lions Run allowed us to do just that, as it promotes physical fitness and supports the Lions Eye Care Fund. In addition, the post-run celebration gave us an opportunity to have some fun with patients and express our appreciation to them.”
Many of the participants shared positive feedback about the event. “It was a great experience,” enthused Allison Lee, a past patient. “There was a lot of support from the physical therapists, whom I now consider friends.” Lee’s sentiments were echoed by current patient Ronald Diekmann, who remarked, “The Sports and Physical Therapy Center has become like a family, and the run brought everyone together.” Staff member and Eureka resident Sonja McFarlane also noted a sense of kinship: “It was great to participate in a community event with my home family and my work family. I’m looking forward to next year’s run!”
Reflecting on the Sports and Physical Therapy Center’s second anniversary in its present location, Quinn credited the new facility with enabling his practice to grow: “Our new clinic is outstanding. We have ample space, which allows for more treatment options for patients of all ages. In addition, we can perform more sport-specific activities for our athletes recovering from injury, so they can return to the field faster. We’ve also been able to add new options that empower patients to manage their care once they’ve been discharged from therapy. And finally, the physical location is ideal – it’s close to the highway and offers plenty of parking. There are lots of windows and natural light, so it creates an upbeat, positive atmosphere that everyone can enjoy.”
Quinn encourages prospective new patients to request a physical therapy prescription from their doctor, and he welcomes them tour the new facility.
