Maritz Travel has been named to "CMI 25" every year since list began in 2007

Maritz has been named to the 2011 “CMI 25” list, an exclusive directory of the largest and most influential full-service meeting and incentive travel management companies focused on the $145 billion corporate meetings and events industry. Now in its fifth year, the CMI 25 list is compiled by Penton Media's Corporate Meetings & Incentives® magazine, the leading information source for the corporate meetings and events industry. This unique annual report is the go-to resource for meeting managers and procurement professionals researching information on these important business partners.

“In total, this year’s CMI 25 companies handled more than 33,000 corporate meetings and incentive programs in 2010, which represents more than 5.7 million room nights,” said Barbara Scofidio, editor of Corporate Meetings & Incentives. “There’s no other comprehensive source for information on these influential buyers who often play a strategic role in the strategic management of meeting dollars and creative execution of off-site programs.” The CMI 25 list will be published in the September 2011 issue of Corporate Meetings & Incentives and on http://www.meetingsnet.com.

“With employee engagement at an all-time low, companies have recognized that they must renew their investments in their people, and meetings, events and incentive travel programs are proven drivers of engagement and business performance,” said Chris Gaia, vice president of marketing, Maritz Travel. “At Maritz, our incentive travel business has come back 85 to 90 percent, which is a testament to our clients understanding the value these programs bring to their bottom-line.”

The magazine’s editors select CMI 25 companies based on several factors, including the number of meetings and incentive travel programs managed in 2010 and the total number of room nights represented by those meetings and incentives. They also evaluated the number of full-time employees at each company, as well as the percentage of the company’s revenues that came from organizing corporate meetings and incentives, versus association meetings or other sources.

With more than 1,000,000 room nights booked, Maritz Travel is one of the largest buyers of hotel rooms in the meeting and event space. Alongside its industry size and strength, Maritz Travel helps clients demonstrate the value meetings, events and incentive travel programs create for their business and their people. “Times have changed, and the people participating in these programs have changed as well. Companies must change their strategies to effectively motivate the behavior of program participants and drive measurable results,” continued Gaia. “We ensure our programs deliver the most value possible by aligning our programs to the specific needs of our clients. We have the people, business processes, and complete solutions to help our clients achieve great results.”
