Author Joel Passey pens a children’s book with a charming title character named Treweena.
The book follows the antics of Treweena, an adorable, cinnamon-colored cat. After getting stuck in the crotch of an old elm tree, Treweena gets rescued by a group of little children who nurse and adopt her. Unlike the other cats who like to chew catnip, mint and lemongrass, Treweena loves tomatoes. Readers will be enthralled with Treweena’s escapades and meetings with other fanciful characters. She even meets the elusive Tomato King who lets her use his magic to make the tomatoes in the garden sweeter.
With its combination of brilliant storytelling, vibrant illustrations and delightful characters, Treweena is a picture book that will charm readers of all ages.
This book will be featured at the New York Library Association Book Exhibit in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on November 2-5, 2011.
