Andres Aquino's worldwide fashion journey has seen him showing his collections for a number of years in New York, Palm Beach, the Dominican Republic, Romania, Mexico, India, Dubai, St. Lucia and St. Croix USVI. In each destination he leaves an impression of fashion as fun and entertaining by incorporating theatrical elements, dance, music and drama into his runway shows. “I am flattered to see that other designers are starting to copy some of my stage presentation formula," says Mr. Aquino. "It certainly makes fashion shows more exciting."
Andres Aquino is also the founder and producer of Couture Fashion Week, one of New York’s most prestigious fashion events, now entering its 15th season. In that role he has worked with major fashion designers from around the globe, world-class entertainers and celebrities, and well-known charities.
Later in October 2011, Andres Aquino will be a recipient of the 2011 “EL Award” from Diario La Prensa recognizing outstanding men in the New York City community. Mr. Aquino also recently received the “Style Fashion Leader & Inspiration Award” from SUNY Westchester Community College, and has been dubbed the "Urban Renaissance Man" by Latino Future magazine. He is a past recipient of the Prestige International Award from the Curacao Beauty Organization, and has been invited as a special guest to prominent international fashion events including South Africa Fashion Week, Fashion Week Latino (Bogota, Colombia), and others. Mr. Aquino also appeared on Bulgaria’s top-rated TV program Slavi’s Show.
The New York-based designer, poet and producer has been featured in numerous publications and TV programs in Italy, Russia, Dubai, China, Romania, the Dominican Republic, India and other countries. His designs have been seen in Collezioni Haute Couture, Book Moda, NTDTV, Fashion TV, Bond, Moda, Arabian Business, World News and many more.
