Since childhood, author Phyllis Allen Eifert has loved art. Drawing in her school publication was the beginning. For over a half a century she worked in many mediums and the creative process continued. Today, she shares with readers Sixty Two Years of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, a compilation of her creative pieces released through Xlibris.
Photographs and illustrations of Eifert’s artworks, and the stories behind them, are featured in this book. Looking at her art makes readers experience decades of study in various mediums, hours of practice, trials and errors. Through her story, readers will also discover work habits, techniques, purity, and depth of her love and dedication to perfection in her work.
In this compilation, Eifert’s confidence as an artist shines through as she shares with everyone some of her earliest works. It also shows her maturity as she began to experiment with ceramics and porcelain, papier maché, and bronze.
“Every artist should use techniques they learn, and they should use those techniques to express themselves. Technique is used as a means to an end, which is very important to know. Whether you get it with wire, clay, chalk or paint, the important thing is to say what you want to say,” the author says.
Sixty Two Years of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture lets readers delve into the myriad of techniques of an artist.
