These powerful shirt designs tell it like it is so you can express how you really feel about cancer...Knowing that the proceeds will support The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing makes them even better.

As part of their fundraising efforts for The Dempsey Challenge, Rinck Advertising in Auburn, Maine is selling anti-cancer t-shirts to benefit the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing (http://www.dempseycenter.org) at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine.

The anti-cancer shirts available for sale take a different approach than the usual apparel and accessories including ribbons of support for cancer awareness. With slogans like “I [upside down heart] Cancer,” “Scarred, not Scared,” and “F the big C,” the shirts allow cancer patients, survivors and anyone touched by cancer to share their true feelings about this terrible disease.

“These shirts tell it like it is so you can express how you really feel about cancer,” said Laura Davis, co-owner and principal of Rinck Advertising and a 22-year cancer survivor. “The shirt designs are powerful and knowing that the proceeds will support The Dempsey Center makes the shirts even better.”

T-shirts are $20 each (plus shipping and handling) and can be purchased by visiting http://www.rinckadvertising.com/ihatecancerstore or http://www.facebook.com/ihatecancer.
T-shirts will also be available for sale at Rinck Advertising’s I Hate Cancer tent at The Dempsey Challenge in Lewiston, Maine on October 8 and 9. The Dempsey Challenge presented by Amgen is a fundraising experience for The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing and includes non-competitive walks and bike rides.

The mission of The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing is to provide the highest quality of education, support and wellness services to enhance the quality of life of individuals, families and communities touched by cancer. All of the center’s services are provided free of charge. The center was founded by actor and Maine native, Patrick Dempsey.

Rinck Advertising to Give Away Custom-Designed Tattoo to Cancer Survivor

In addition to selling t-shirts, Rinck is also giving away a custom-designed tattoo to a cancer survivor as a way to honor the courage and the strength it took to get through their experience with cancer. Rinck is asking interested cancer survivors to share their cancer story, as well as why they want a tattoo and what they would get for a tattoo. The Rinck staff, and tattoo artist James McGrory of Fianna Tattoo Studios, Portland, Maine, who has generously donated his services, will review the entries and select one winner who will receive an all-expenses-paid custom-designed tattoo to be inked the week before the Dempsey Challenge.

“The cancer experience is truly a battle where the patient has to give up so much control in order to fight the disease and ultimately survive it,” said Davis. “I love the idea of commemorating the cancer fight with tattoo artistry. It is the idea of taking back control over one’s body and creating something of meaning that will last forever.”

To enter for a free tattoo, you must be 18 years of age or older and be a cancer survivor. Entry forms and official rules may be found online at http://www.rinckadvertising.com/ihatecancer or on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/ihatecancer. Entries must be submitted by October 3. The winner will be announced on or about October 4.
