“... a true testament to the quality of work that Digicon brings to the Institute." Polly Kiamos, Digicon Vice President of Health Sciences

Digicon Corporation announces two major contract wins within the National Institutes of Health (NIH), starting FY-2012. The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) awarded Digicon a five-year contract to provide support in the areas of “Scientific and Technical Support for Bioinformatics, DNA Sequencing, Scientific Systems Administration, and Information Technology Infrastructure.” NHGRI is one of the premier research Institutes at NIH, whose goal is to analyze the structure of human DNA and unravel the genetic basis of human disease.
This is an especially important win for Digicon as it continues our fifteen-year partnership with the Institute. Digicon has grown with NHGRI and offers a dedicated, experienced staff uniquely positioned to provide the critical Scientific and IT expertise that NHGRI requires, now and well into the future.
Digicon’s Vice President of Health Sciences, Ms. Polly Kiamos, states “this is a true testament to the quality of work that Digicon brings to the Institute based on our exceptional employees and their enthusiasm for and commitment to the NHGRI mission.”
Digicon’s second win going into FY-2012 is to provide Desktop Support Services to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS), Scientific Information Technology Branch (SITB) for the next five years. NIAMS’ mission is to support research into the causes, treatment, and prevention of arthritis and musculoskeletal and skin diseases, the training of basic and clinical scientists to carry out this research, and the dissemination of information on research progress in these diseases.
This is a new opportunity for Digicon to expand our talents into a new Institute. Digicon will provide high-quality, responsive IT Desktop Support to NIAMS’ scientific, program management, and administrative communities.
“We are proud to receive this contract award and we look forward to a long-term partnership with NHGRI and NIAMS. We focus on solutions for our customers; we are always thinking ahead for their benefit,” states John J. Wu, CEO and President of Digicon.
