As the second installment in the company's AutoCAD 2012 training video series, the new course explores advanced design operations, sophisticated notation, and complementary workflow advice that goes beyond the basics.

Software training company InfiniteSkills Inc has just announced a new Advanced AutoCAD 2012 Tutorial Video Course, a 116-lesson sequel to its entry-level beginners series. Authored by AutoCAD professional and veteran trainer Brian Benton, the new AutoCAD training examines extended drawing and navigational tools, detailed notation and custom publishing options, command automation, interface customization, industry best practices and more.

“We’ve seen an incredible demand with every AutoCAD course we’ve released, and we’re certain that this advanced tutorial delivers the professional skills customers are looking for,” said Colin Boyd, sales director for Infinite Skills. “This training is the perfect complement to our beginners AutoCAD training as it builds on core skills and prepares the viewer to work in a commercial environment.”

The advanced training series explores an extensive range of concepts and techniques, beginning with design tools and controls. Viewers will learn to work with named views, advanced navigational controls and learn special tips for accessing and displaying design data. Instructor Benton also introduces two-handed approaches to drawing, utilizing the mouse and keyboard simultaneously to help users work more efficiently with the tools at their disposal. Dimensioning, leaders, notes and text and customization features are also covered, helping developers learn how to create unique documents that bear their company information. Sheet set organization, file automation and extended publishing configuration are also covered.

The training then moves through parametric constraints, action recorders, ribbon programming, palette customization, and extended 3D development to ensure efficient, high quality results. Finally, the AutoCAD 2012 tutorial looks at using AutoCAD within standard workflows and also pinpoints industry standard best practices, allowing viewers to better apply CAD skills within a professional environment, whether exchanging drawings with colleagues, clients or large engineering firms.

“The Advanced AutoCAD series prepares viewers with not only raw skills but also a truly professional perspective,” said Chris Johns, content coordinator for Infinite Skills. “It’s often neglected in other AutoCAD training products, but knowing how to communicate, share your work and develop projects within a broader workflow are absolutely crucial to anyone seriously entering a CAD-oriented discipline.”
The full Advanced AutoCAD 2012 Training package is available in two formats, as a cross-platform compatible DVD-ROM or as a direct video download from the Infinite Skills website. Both editions retail for $99.95 and are also offered as a bundle with the beginner’s course for $149.95.

Usable CAD project files are included, and shipping options are available to customers worldwide. More information about the tutorials, including 13 free video lessons can be found on the AutoCAD training page:
