Shallow blue seas, endless sandy beaches, and unique marine wildlife make kayaking the cays of the Bahamas an unforgettable sea kayaking experience. Spirit of the West Adventures offers just the right thing with their new sea kayaking tour into the heart of world famous Exuma Cays, Bahamas.
This unique paddling adventure takes kayakers into the Land and Sea Park, a protected marine environment with an abundance of marine wildlife. Keep an eye out for swimming pigs, sea turtles, manta rays, and gentle nurse sharks. Exploring the Bahamas by kayak allows travelers to view remote and often inaccessible regions of the Cays. While the Bahamas presents amazing paddling opportunities, the tour will be sure to include ample relaxation time to soak up the sun and enjoy the area. An average day on tour may include a combination of kayaking, snorkeling amidst the coral reefs, beachcombing and reading a book under a palm tree on the beach. Snorkelers will see countless reef fish, beautiful corals and sponges.
For the past five years, Spirit of the West adventures owners and operators Breanne Quesnel and Rick Snowdon have expanded the local reach of Spirit of the West by offering new international sea kayaking destinations. Following three seasons paddling the coast of Chile and two summers exploring Greenland, the two are excited to broaden their international destinations to the Caribbean.
“The combination of great weather, beautiful sand beaches, and unique wildlife make the Bahamas a prime paddling destination,” says owner Breanne Quesnel. “We are so excited to offer our guests the chance to explore this remote destination with the security and comfort that a Spirit of the West tour guarantees.”
The six-day, five night expedition style sea kayak tour departs and ends in Staniel Cay, Exuma. The first and last night of the tour will be spent in cottages in Staniel Cay and throughout the week the group will kayak and camp throughout the Exuma Cays. The cost of the tour is $1695 per person and includes all kayaking and camping equipment, two nights accommodation, meals, snorkeling equipment and park fees.
The tour runs throughout January and Februray 2012 and seats are filling fast. Book early to avoid missing this adventure of a lifetime. For more information about the tour, travel planning, or any questions be sure to call Breanne at 1-250-285-2121 or check out their website for more details.
