A new culture centre is set to open in the busy holiday destination of Bodrum at a time when demand for holidays increases and Jet2.com announce additional routes

Bodrum, which sits in Turkey’s Aegean district, will soon benefit from the opening of a new culture centre in Turgutreis; giving holidaymakers further options when visiting the sunshine port.

The announcement coincides with Jet2.com’s decision to increase flights to Dalaman, one of Bodrum’s neighbours, from their Glasgow base.

A Source of Holiday Fun

The culture centre will give Bodrum a new appeal. Traditionally, it’s beautiful sand beaches and bustling nightlife have been the main draws for holidaymakers looking for a stay in the area.

However, a place that used to be an important port and was once known as Halicarnassus is bound to have greater appeal than just the sand and sea.

From the impressive 15th Century Bodrum Castle built by the Knights of Saint John to the Tomb of Mausolos, regarded as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Bodrum is a part of Turkey that is already rich in culture.

The culture centre will add to the sense of things to do and see. It boasts a huge collection of different things, including two art galleries; a culture and art library; an artisan workshop for painting, design, traditional arts and visual arts; a computer and photography laboratory; three music rooms and the Mediterranean Maritime History Archive.

It is set to be a veritable hub of creativity and a source of enjoyment that will appeal to all age groups and types of people. Families visiting Bodrum will be particularly keen to discover its charms.

Bookings for Next Year are Soaring

Jet2.com flies to both Bodrum and Dalaman, both of which are ideal for unlocking the charms of the Turquoise Coast. The extra flight to Dalaman from their Glasgow base will give holidaymakers further choice when deciding to visit this pocket of Turkey. Steve Heapy, Chief Commercial Officer of Jet2.com, commented:

“Adding nine new destinations demonstrates our commitment to growth in Glasgow and we aim to continue to add routes that reflect our customers’ holiday choices. Majorca, Turkey and Cyprus are proving extremely popular at the moment with bookings for next year already soaring.”

One of the reasons that these bookings for the area are soaring could have something to do with the early deals Jet2.com is currently offering. Holidaymakers can book winter sun and summer 2012 holidays now.
