Miami Lakes, FL (PRWEB) September 29, 2011
Inktel Direct, Corp., a leading business process outsourcer specializing in marketing and governmental services, is proud to announce it has named the Children’s Movement of Florida as the winner of the Inktel Direct Innovation Grant. The Children’s Movement of Florida will receive a $10,000 grant to be used toward developing a mobile advocacy program to better the lives of the children of Florida.
The Inktel Direct Innovation Grant was the cornerstone initiative of Inktel Direct’s summer-long “100 Days of Innovation” campaign. The contest sought to identify the nonprofit that is working to change the world for the better through the most innovative means. Through the grant, 27 not-for-profit organizations gave their case for why their idea was the most innovative and demonstrated how they could rally overwhelming amounts of support using innovative means.
"Innovation is what will push us all forward as a nation, and these 27 nonprofits exemplify how pushing the boundaries of creativity can be used to make the world a better place,” explained Ricky Arriola, president and CEO of Inktel Direct. "The panel had a difficult decision to make, as all the causes had innovative ideas for how to further their mission statements. In the end, the panel went with The Children’s Movement of Florida because it had a unique approach to the matter of education, and an innovative means to further it: mobile technology. We congratulate The Children’s Movement of Florida and all the other innovative nonprofits that participated.”
The Children’s Movement of Florida’s idea is the creation of a mobile advocacy platform that would allow Movement supporters to advocate on behalf of Florida’s children through mobile messaging. The result of the program is intended to be a simple, yet effective platform for advocacy that will empower citizens to make a difference despite the challenges and distractions of their busy lives. “We now communicate weekly with more than 285,000 Floridians statewide,” said David Lawrence Jr., chair of The Children’s Movement of Florida. “And our ability to engage tens of thousands of people through their mobile phones will play a crucial role in our insistence that children be Florida’s highest priority.”
The Inktel Direct Innovation Panel consisted of Ricky Arriola, president and CEO of Inktel Direct; Dan Arriola, executive vice president of Inktel Direct; Alexi Giannoulias, former Illinois state treasurer; Justyn Howard, president and CEO of Sprout Social; James H. Lowry, senior adviser and global diversity director of the Boston Consulting Group; and Deepak Malhotra, Professor at the Harvard Business School. The panel analyzed two primary criteria -- how innovative the idea was, and the amount of support the nonprofits were able to rally through innovative means such as social media.
