Alliance Rubber Company, a leader in printed wristbands, announces the launch of new QRC Bands to its Ad Specialty product line. QRC Bands allow marketers to connect with their customers in new and exciting ways using QR (Quick Response) Code technology. The QRC Bands feature a QR code printed on a rubber wristband that can be scanned by patrons with Smart Phones that have a QR Code reader application installed. When scanned, the QR code triggers a predetermined action, such as going to a website, creating a contact, composing a text message, or calling a phone number.

With hundreds or thousands of potential uses, QRC Bands provide a seamless bridge between print, online and mobile content and allow users one-stop access to information and promotions. "The point is to engage consumers by giving them something they want, whether its timely information related to the event they're attending, discounted admission for their next visit, downloadable media, etc.," said Katie Hammel, Ad Specialty Sales Manager for Alliance. "Why not offer your biggest fans incentives or special offers. Venues and events are already applying wristbands to their guests, but now they can use those wristbands as tools of engagement. It's another medium for marketing, plus it's easy to track and report responses."

QRC Bands are white with black print. They allow companies to promote their branding and messaging, while also providing a working QR Code for consumers to scan. Each band can only be scanned while relaxed.

Using Quick Response (QR) Codes for marketing has become a growing trend in 2011 and consumer awareness and adoption of QR codes continues to increase. A recent study on mobile QR and bar code scanning by comScore, Inc. cited that 14 million U.S. mobile users in June 2011 scanned a QR or bar code on their mobile device. The figure represents 6.2% of total mobile users.
