Bordine’s Vice President Philip Tomczak named a “ProtoStar” in Constellation SuperNova Awards

Attendance on Demand cloud-based employee time and attendance service is pleased to congratulate Philip Tomczak, vice president of Bordine’s, for his recognition in the Constellation SuperNova Awards.

Tomczak was named a semi-finalist, or “ProtoStar,” in the Cloud Computing category of this awards program for launching a new innovative time and attendance management system for Bordine’s, a leading Michigan nursery. Bordine’s new time and attendance system, the Attendance on Demand cloud-based solution, was implemented by Advanced Time Management, Inc. (Grand Rapids, MI).

The Constellation SuperNova awards, begun this year, recognize individuals who embody the human spirit to innovate, overcome adversity, and successfully deliver market-changing approaches. Semi-finalists were selected based on the following six criteria:

  •     How well they built the business case for acceptance of their project by organization leadership
  •     The application of change management methods and approaches
  •     Deployment of emerging and disruptive technology
  •     Identification and achievement of metrics to measure impact of the technology
  •     Results of the innovation
  •     “Coolness” factor

Tomczak’s initiative reduced employee overtime by 40 percent for the leading Michigan nursery. It also put an end to duplicate entry of employee information in separate systems. It also decentralized employee time-keeping and streamlined the once-lengthy attendance tracking and payroll process to less than an hour.
