Pilates studio helps breast cancer rehab program go global

Pink Ribbon Program

The Pink Ribbon Program (PRP) has announced a new partnership with Mbodies Training Academy, a premier Pilates studio in Witney, England, which will help reach out to breast cancer survivors on an international level.

Doreen Puglisi M.S., founder of PRP – and also a breast cancer survivor – recently traveled to England to train Pilates instructors and physiotherapists to become certified Pink Ribbon instructors.

Chris Onslow, owner of Mbodies Training Academy, will be offering continued Pink Ribbon Program instructor certifications. Puglisi is passionate about the alliance and the expansion overseas. β€œIt was a wonderful experience and Pink Ribbon is looking toward the future with trainings expanding into the U.K., Ireland, Denmark, Italy, and Holland.”

The PRP is a non-profit organization that was founded to develop a comprehensive rehabilitation exercise program designed to improve recovery for breast cancer patients. Mbodies will be the first studio in the U.K. to offer The Pink Ribbon Program. The rehab program consists of an initial six weeks of supervised exercise in the early post-operative stage, then transitions to the Mbodies wellness and standard classes. Sessions can be taken in a small group format or one-on-one with a personal trainer.

The next scheduled certification course at Mbodies Training Academy is scheduled for January 2012.
