SecondLook Solutions entered the document management marketplace with a simple to use interface that solves the challenges of disorganized historical documents images and data. As part of the solution, the SecondLook Application provided a secure upload of documents from remote locations to a single centrally organized web based interface. This aspect on its own can provide an external method for a company to receive and file new materials as they are generated by outsiders to the company. Claims, supporting information and other non-standard documents and images can be uploaded, meta-tagged and organized as needed without substantial advance training or specialized software.
While this capability on its own would make the SecondLook application a desired adjunct to any company’s document management system, the application also provides all of the necessary tools for organizing, distributing and maintaining the documents once uploaded. Full OCR (optical character recognition) is performed in the upload process allowing the user to find and save queries/document sets which contain key words as defined by the user. Further management is provided through the ability to merge, re-order and/or purge documents into discreet sets that can be saved in folders and folders within folders. Added to these features, up to 10 user defined meta-tags make the overall ability to store and find documents within the site completely effortless.
Since users are often remote from the application and from one another, the application completes its feature set by providing the ability to securely Email links to documents and queries directly from inside the application. Security is assured because the documents never leave the site, and an internal management console prevents users from sending materials to a wrong person or entity inadvertently.
