Provo, Utah (PRWEB) September 29, 2011
To help parents and teachers provide engaging educational activities for children of the digital age, Imagine Learning, developer of the award-winning children’s language and literacy software program Imagine Learning English, has released its second mobile learning application, Gamester. The app, which is compatible with iOS devices, is now available as a free download in the iTunes store.
Gamester features three interactive kids’ games designed to help young learners master the letters of the alphabet:
Gamester is designed for both home and school use. “This would be an excellent addition to any early literacy curriculum,” said Clydie Wakefield, executive director of curriculum development at Imagine Learning. “Teachers and students will love the way Gamester makes learning the letters of the alphabet fun and easy for even the youngest of learners.”
While Imagine Learning is best known as the company behind Imagine Learning English, an engaging language and literacy software program that helps students read at grade level, the company has also produced successful mobile apps. Bookster, the read-along storytelling app from Imagine Learning, was recently updated with new books and features. The company sees mobile apps as another way to deliver effective reading instruction to children.
“Kids growing up in the digital age need educational activities that are also engaging and interactive,” said Susan Preator, president and CEO of Imagine Learning. “With Gamester, children can have fun learning critical early reading skills anytime, anywhere.”
Additional games for the app are in development. The company appreciates feedback from parents, educators and kids who use the app. Consumers are encouraged to download Gamester and submit reviews to the iTunes App Store or to apps(at)imaginelearning(dot)com.
