Palo Alto Area Bar Association Will Hold Charity Golf Tournament On October 10

The Palo Alto Area Bar Association will hold its 22nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Stanford Golf Course on Monday, October 10, 2011. All proceeds will benefit Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto, which provides legal services to underprivileged families and individuals.

The golf tournament is a fun way to support a worthy cause.

The Palo Alto Area Bar Association invites all golfers to its 22nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament to be held at the world famous Stanford University Golf Course on Monday, October 10, 2011. The tournament falls on the Columbus Day holiday. Proceeds will benefit Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto.

Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto (CLSEPA) is a community-based organization that provides free and very low cost legal services to low-income and under-served people in the areas of housing and immigration through advice clinics, direct services, and representation. CLSEPA is also home to the Volunteer Attorney Program (VAP) which provides legal services in a broad range of practice areas by engaging the assistance of volunteer law students and pro bono attorneys. Each year, CLSEPA provides legal services to nearly 1,400 families, with significant pro bono support from local firms and attorneys.

Soyeun D. Choi, President of the Palo Alto Area Bar Association, states: "The golf tournament is a fun way to support a worthy cause." Opportunities to sponsor the event and to donate raffle prizes are still available. Committing to be a sponsor at the 22nd Annual PAABA Charity Golf Tournament is an opportunity for you and your company to get wonderful exposure to the legal community on a fun and festive occasion. Lawyers, judges, and other legal industry service providers will all be there. But it is more than a marketing opportunity. It is the chance to contribute to a worthy organization that continues to make a difference in peoples’ lives every day.

Spots are still available for golfing. Play will be a scramble format with teams of four. Everyone is welcome to play as a single, twosome, or make up their own foursome.

The schedule for the day is as follows:
10:30 a.m. Check-in, Putting Competition
11:30 a.m. Lunch
12:30 p.m. Shotgun Start
Dinner and the raffle will immediately follow golf.
