Over the years I’ve encountered some remarkable nonprofits that don’t have the resources to support a PR program, but deserve to have their story told. When the timing is right and the mission moves us, c3PR will be there to help.
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) September 30, 2011
c3PR, a Silicon Valley-based boutique public relations and marketing agency, today announced that Principal Mar Junge has been awarded the 2011 Communitas Award for leadership in skills-based community service. Specifically, both c3PR and Ms. Junge were selected for providing pro bono services to nonprofit organizations One Heart World-Wide and Sticks-2-Schools.
Communitas Awards are presented annually by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) as part of an international effort to recognize the spirit of communitas – people helping people. The Awards honor companies, organizations and individuals that go beyond rhetoric to help the less fortunate. Nominees are evaluated both on the extent and effectiveness of their companies’ programs, and on their personal dedication to doing business in a way that benefits their employees, communities and environment. This year, 30 businesses, organizations and individuals worldwide were recognized for excellence in community service and corporate social responsibility.
“I founded c3PR to help businesses gain traction with their public relations and marketing efforts. Over the years I’ve encountered some remarkable nonprofits that don’t have the resources to support a PR program, but deserve to have their story told. One Heart Worldwide and Sticks-2-Schools are both very deserving organizations,” said Junge. “When the timing is right and the mission moves us, c3PR will be there to help.”
One Heart World-Wide (OHW) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of women and infants in remote rural indigenous villages that have limited or no access to medical or public health services. Based on over ten years of experience in Tibet, One Heart World-Wide has established an effective, replicable and sustainable model to reduce preventable deaths related to pregnancy and childbirth. This month, OHW announced that there have been no maternal deaths in its service areas since the organization’s Network of Safety program began in Nepal in 2008 and in Mexico in 2009.
Sticks-2-Schools (S2S) is a nonprofit organization that helps fight childhood obesity by motivating youth to increase their level of physical activity. The program uses the sport of lacrosse to encourage children to have fun getting fit and donates lacrosse equipment, curriculum guides and instruction to schools. In the five years that the program was active in the San Francisco Bay Area, more than 40,000 youth in 78 schools were reached. Now based in Everett, Washington and supported by the Washington Stealth, Sticks-2-Schools has over 80 schools throughout Western Washington on the waiting list.
