Fentress Architects is dedicated to a ‘people-focused culture’ in which client satisfaction is our number one priority. This expansion is an important opportunity to be closer to many of our international partners.

Double-decker buses, fish ‘n’ chips and a chance to see the Queen. All are fabulous reasons to open a London studio, but even more worthy, the global city is gateway to much of the world and a creative hub for architects. Fentress Architects is excited to announce the opening of their international studio in London, U.K.

“Fentress Architects is dedicated to a ‘people-focused culture’ in which client satisfaction is our number one priority. This expansion is an important opportunity to be closer to many of our international partners,” said Curtis Fentress, Founder & Chief Designer at Fentress Architects.

Fentress Architects is internationally recognized for their innovative, award-winning designs for international airports, national museums, world-class convention centers, government buildings, court houses, higher education, laboratories and high-rise office buildings.

Design Philosophy | Guided by Curtis Fentress’ “Touchstones of Design,” Fentress Architects weaves culture and context into their designs. With Incheon International Airport, Fentress let traditional Korean aesthetics guide the creative process; the Palm Springs Convention Center mirrors the surrounding desert environment; and the iconic image of the flag being raised on Iwo Jima in World War II inspired the National Museum of the Marine Corps. For their latest airport project, Fentress used the surf of the nearby Pacific Ocean to inform the design of the new international terminal at Los Angeles International Airport.

Pioneering Sustainability | Fentress Architects has been a pioneer of sustainable design since the studio was founded in 1980. Fentress designed the largest daylit structure in the U.S. and the second largest LEED Gold building in its era, which also recently achieved LEED EB Platinum. The majority of the firm’s licensed architects are LEED APs, with broad experience collaborating with recognized experts in sustainability. This commitment to sustainability led Engineering News-Record magazine in 2010 to rank the firm among the Top 10 Green Design Firms in the United States.

Fentress Architects is an international design firm that passionately pursues the creation of sustainable and iconic architecture. Together with their clients, Fentress creates inspired design to improve the human environment. Founded by Curtis Fentress in 1980, the firm has designed US$26 billion of architectural projects worldwide, visited by over 300 million people each year. Fentress is a dynamic learning organization, driven to grow its ability to design, innovate and exceed client expectations. The firm has been honored with more than 360 distinctions for design excellence and innovation, and in 2010, Curtis Fentress was recognized by the American Institute of Architects with the most prestigious award for public architecture, the Thomas Jefferson Award. Fentress has studios in Denver, Colorado; Los Angeles, California; San Jose, California; Washington, D.C.; and London, U.K. http://www.fentressarchitects.com
