Imagine Golf Club will cover all four rounds of the Melbourne Presidents Cup as the tournament is televised live in the United States for the first time. The Ninth Presidents Cup will be hosted by Melbourne, Australia from November 14-20, 2011. The international golf tournament is a team match play competition held every two years featuring 24 of the world’s top golfers. Since 1996, the tournament, featuring 12 players from the United States and 12 from around the world, excluding Europe, has alternated venues between the United States and other international sites.

This year’s event will be held at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club with Greg Norman captaining the International team and Fred Couples leading the United States team. This will mark the first time that a city outside of the United States has hosted the prestigious golf tournament more than once. Melbourne is also the site of the only win by the International team in 1998.

As reported earlier on Imagine Golf Club, NBA Icon and star athlete Michael Jordan and Champions Tour player Jay Haas will be returning as Assistant U.S. Captains to Fred Couples for the November 2011 matches at Royal Melbourne. Jordan and Haas previously helped lead the American team to victory in 2009 when the Presidents Cup was held in San Francisco, California. International team captain, Greg Norman, has selected Frank Nobilo and Tim Clark as his two captain’s assistants.

Because of the 16 hour time difference between Melbourne and the Eastern Time zone, networks such as NBC and the Golf Channel also plan on airing 23 hours of replays of the competition between the U.S. and International teams.
