To better service the growing roster of EMEA-based clients, Freeborders, Inc, a global provider of consulting, technology and outsourcing solutions to financial services and Internet based businesses, further expanded its operations in Europe. Chris Smith joined the company as director of account management to handle key accounts and grow Freeborders’ operations in Europe. The company also opened a new office in Stockholm, Sweden.

He will be instrumental to align Freeborders’ operations in Europe, including our new office in Sweden, with our clients’ needs.”

Based in the UK, Chris Smith will be responsible to manage Freeborders’ key accounts in Europe. He has more than twelve years of experience in the information technology and communication industry and specific vertical industry expertise in the travel, transport, logistics, aviation and financial services sectors.

Prior to joining Freeborders, Chris has held positions at a number of global ICT companies including T-Systems (Deutsche Telekom Group), Fujitsu Services, and SITA, a global information and telecommunications solutions organization for the air transport industry.

Freeborders’ new office in Sweden will support the growing number of EMEA-based clients and global clients that have operations in Continental Europe. Recognized as an international hub for IT talent and innovation, Sweden topped the rankings of The Global Information Technology Report 2009-2010, an annual assessment of the impact of ICT on the development process and the competitiveness of nations prepared by the World Economic Forum and INSEAD.

The Stockholm facility is Freeborders’ second office in Europe. The company already has an office in London, UK. Last year, Freeborders added offices in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Guangzhou, China, to its global network.
