Pleora Showcases Latest Release of its eBUS™ SDK at VISION 2011 in Stuttgart

The eBUS™ SDK 2.2 from Pleora allows the vision industry to leverage 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) using off-the-shelf computer hardware.

With so many vendors looking to adopt 10 GigE, a new generation of software and drivers was needed.

Pleora Technologies, a Canadian company that works globally as a specialist in GigE Vision®-compliant networked video connectivity solutions for the vision system industry, will be showcasing its latest software development kit ─ the eBUS SDK 2.2 ─ at the VISION 2011 trade fair in Stuttgart, Germany, from November 8-10, 2011.

Only then would it be possible that standard, off-the-shelf computer hardware could reliably acquire image data from a GigE Vision video network at data rates approaching 10 GigE line rates, while still having reasonable resources remaining on the PC to perform image processing.”

Adopting 10 Gigabit Ethernet over GigE Vision

Vision system integrators are eager to adopt 10 GigE since it allows their designers to leverage a new generation of high-performance sensors within their vision systems without sacrificing the proven flexibility, scalability, and reliability of Ethernet and the advantages of networked video.
Pleora’s soon-to-be-released iPORT™ CL-Ten Dual Medium IP engine and the eBUS Universal Pro driver (an element within the eBUS SDK) enable the deployment of multi-rate, networked connectivity solutions that support throughputs of up to 9 Gb/s. Moreover, bandwidth within these video networks scale seamlessly from 100 Mb/s for network controllers and 1 Gb/s to accommodate most of today’s sensors to 9 Gb/s for ultra-high performance image sensors and aggregated video streams.
