The Cade Foundation feels that cost should never be an issue that prevents a couple who is able to love and care for a child from having that chance.
Rockville, MD (PRWEB) September 14, 2011
For the third straight year, Shady Grove Fertility Center is donating free fertility treatment to be given away at the 6th Annual Race for the Family 5K and Fun Walk on Sunday, October 2, at 8:00 a.m. in Gaithersburg, MD. To enter to win the treatment worth up to $10,000, participants can visit http://www.RaceForTheFamily.net and register for the 5k race or 1-mile fun walk, or donate $30 to Cade Foundation.
The 5K race and 1-mile fun walk will start and finish in the scenic Seneca Creek Park at 11950 Clopper Road in Gaithersburg, MD.
More than 500 runners and walkers are expected for this family building event along with over 100 volunteers. All proceeds raised will benefit Shady Grove Fertility’s partner, Cade Foundation, a national non‐profit organization that provides financial assistance to would-be parents. Through its annual Family Building Grants, the Cade Foundation awards couples struggling with infertility monetary gifts of up to $10,000 to help pay for infertility treatment or domestic adoption.
“We are delighted to work in partnership with the Cade Foundation to help more couples in our area and beyond fulfill their dream of starting a family,” said Frank Chang, M.D., a Shady Grove Fertility Center board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and Cade Foundation board member.
Shady Grove Fertility was recently named a 2011 Cade Foundation Family Building Champion. This award is the highest offered by the Cade Foundation, and is given to individuals and organizations that provide support to the Foundation and to those whose work improves quality of life for families with infertility.
In 2010, through the generosity of participants, sponsors and donors, Race for the Family raised over $95,000 which helped to fund family building options for eight couples. Of those eight, five have delivered babies, one has adopted a child and two are currently pregnant.
“We feel that cost should never be an issue that prevents a couple who is able to love and care for a child from having that chance,” said Cade Foundation Founder Camille Hammond. “Shady Grove Fertility has been a wonderful partner and share the same vision to assist couples build their families.”
