Vincent Roa Selected as Association for Women in Communications D.C. Chapter’s 2011 Matrix Award

Donna Vincent Roa of Maryland-based Vincent Roa Group will receive the Matrix Award on August 25, 2011 at the AWC-DC’s Annual Tea.

My experience with international organizations and USG agencies that focus on developing country stakeholders has been both rich and rewarding.

Donna Vincent Roa, Managing Partner & Chief Strategist at Vincent Roa Group, a Maryland-based strategic business communication firm serving domestic and international clients, has been selected to receive the 2011 Matrix Award from the Association for Women in Communications D.C. Chapter (AWC-DC) for her accomplishments in the global communication field.

The award will be presented at the AWC-DC’s Annual Tea on Aug. 25, 2011, in the Willard Hotel’s Nest Room.

“I am honored to be chosen as the 2011 Matrix Award recipient and appreciate the recognition for my accomplishments in global communication. My experiences with international organizations and USG agencies that focus on developing country stakeholders have been both rich and rewarding,” Dr. Roa says.

One of about 800 internationally accredited business communication professionals worldwide, Roa is a business communication thought leader, builds best-in-class global communication portfolios, and is a leading water sector communication expert.

Most recently, she was Public Affairs Director and Director of Science Communication at the EPA, where she designed and directed an award-winning, multi-year science communication strategy and brand communication program. She is a past president of the largest US chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, has a Ph.D. in Communication, and was one of ten US Treasury Department-designated social scientists that traveled to major foreign capitols to conduct research to support the first redesign of the $100 bill.

A former United Nations senior communication officer and environmental communication consultant with the World Bank and UNICEF, she was the keynote speaker at the first class of graduating social marketers in Cajamarca, Peru and has presented on communication issues at the British Medical Association. She is also a past City of Rockville Environment Commissioner and a regular speaker for the Montgomery County Business Roundtable on Education.
