FitFarms opened its doors to the general public in 2006 being the first company to offer 7 day residential boot camp programmes in the country.
They have successfully run over one hundred boot camps with thousands of women and men going through the scientifically proven weight loss programme.
The FitFarms success attracted other companies to the market which are mainly known as a military style boot camp. FitFarms still runs more weeks than any other company in the country and has also in the past been associated with supermarket giant Tesco PLC. FitFarms successfully operated the weeks for the supermarket chain providing nutrition, exercise and life coaching services.
The founder of FitFarms is Stephen Cole from Surrey. Stephen's background is as a squash professional and coach in Denmark. When Stephen's Danish squash contract came to an end he returned to his homeland. He worked for 10 years running his own weight loss personal training company in Islington and Chelsea. In 2006 FitFarms was created as a mixed weight loss retreat. The company soon realised there was a physical need to change the programme to women only and male only to take into consideration the different training techniques.
The FitFarms philosophy is sustainable health and weight loss. The health team consist of nutritionist, life coaches, gym instructors, personal trainers and chefs. On top of this there is also many specialised weight loss boot camp trainers including pilates, tai chi and yoga instructors.
The key to the FitFarms success is a varied, fun effective programme. The exercises that clients take part on in the week can all be implemented into their lifestyles for when they arrive home. The nutritionist even gives out all the recipes to the attendees on the week.
FitFarms works closely with Julia FitzGerald who studied nutrition and food science at Westminster University. Upon graduation she was also honoured with the student of the year award. Julia has the same dedication and work ethic at FitFarms. Her workshops really explain the facts and fiction of nutrition science.
