Organizations looking to optimize inter-data center communication would be smart to take a look at the Data Mobility Switch
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) June 06, 2011
Infineta Systems, a provider of Hyper-scale WAN Optimization systems, announced today the availability of a powerful product test report by Enterprise Storage Group (ESG) based on hands-on testing of the Infineta Data Mobility Switch (DMS). The report, entitled “Infineta Data Mobility switch: Hyper-scale WAN Optimization (June 2011),” verifies and confirms the exceptional performance that the product delivers for multi-Gigabit inter-data center WAN traffic. The report concludes that the “(Infineta DMS) was able to accelerate a full 10Gbps of simulated data center traffic while deduplicating at greater than 90 percent with no detectable increase in end-to-end latency.” ESG Lab provides in-depth testing and analysis of emerging technologies and products in the storage, data management and information security industries.
Tony Palmer of ESG Lab stated, “ESG Lab was very impressed with Infineta’s Data Mobility Switch. Our testing confirmed that Infineta is more than capable of satisfying the most demanding high-bandwidth, low latency replication, migration, and server mobility needs between data centers. Organizations looking to optimize inter-data center communication would be smart to take a look at the Data Mobility Switch.”
In separate announcements also made today, Infineta announced the general availability of the DMS, (see http://www.infineta.com/company/news/press-releases/dms-launch) as well as having raised a $15 million Series B funding round (see http://www.infineta.com/company/news/press-releases/series-b).
ESG performed hands-on evaluation and testing of DMS at Infineta’s facilities in San Jose, California. Highlights of the report include:
- Infineta’s DMS was able to achieve consistent levels of data reduction for WAN links varying from 1Gbps to 10Gbps speeds, averaging 85-95% reduction for each test;
- The DMS showed significant performance gains in real world tests where migration/replication, large file transfers, and backups were simulated over the WAN;
- The DMS was able to maintain successful prioritization of traffic by assigning policies to service classes, providing an effective solution for QoS requirements;
- The DMS was able to accelerate over 100,000 TCP connections while effectively filling a multi-Gigabit WAN and significantly increasing the volume of data being sent over the WAN.
