Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) August 16, 2011

On the heels of President Barack Obama’s proposal to provide tax incentives for hiring military veterans G.I. Jobs announces its ninth annual Military Friendly Employers® survey is now open at http://www.gijobs.com/mfe. Deadline for survey completion is Sept. 2.

Companies competing for the Military Friendly Employers® designation must have annual revenues in excess of $500 million. Of the 5,000 eligible companies, only 100 are selected to join this elite group, representing the most prominent 2 percent of all corporate recruiting programs aimed at military veterans.

“At GE we are always looking for people of character to lead our teams. Veterans are a great fit in our culture. Being recognized as a Military Friendly Employer gives GE tremendous visibility when transitioning military personnel are looking for civilian jobs.” said Frank Taylor, vice president and chief security officer at GE and a retired U.S. Air Force brigadier general.

Criteria for the G.I. Jobs Military Friendly Employers® rankings span several categories including assets dedicated to military recruitment and hiring, Guard and Reserve policies, as well as best practices in retention and employee development. The new list will be published in the December 2011 issue of G.I. Jobs magazine, which hits newsstands around Veteran’s Day.
